eyes_for_ears: “macro-video for musicians in action”
This project juxtaposes different experimental musicians. Each artist was asked to improvise sound work. The short video are documentations of these processes. it was almost a physical experience, the sources of sounds and the relation between movement, materials and oscillation became evident.

Location: KVS Brussels, Arduinkai 7, 1000 Brussels

Choreography/concept: Rosa Mei

FENDER BENDER: studies in twin reverb
Fender Bender: a collision between motor vehicles that produces minor
damage. Fender bender: a natural event, occurrence, happening or
accident.

In her newest dance piece, Rosa Mei plays with the notion of twin
reverb. The twins in this case are not identical dancers but rather a
dancer and an invisible, yet tangible partner – a constantly morphing
sound element – which co-exists with the dancer as a live performer.
Experimental sound artist JeanFrançois Blanquet will create a highly
sensitive, viscous sound environment through which Turkish dancer
Asli Ozturk travels.

Body Babel
Words are loaded pistols. Language is both memory and metaphor. In “Body Babel”, dance artists from across Europe (Belgium, Lithuania, Turkey, Slovakia, Armenia and Spain) explore the cultural semiotics of body language. How are our gestures, sense of touch and personal space affected by our cultural identity? How does body language act as a sort of cultural memory and define us as individuals? In a performance combining mental and physical virtuosity, two angels, a few Babylonians and faith healers seek out “the dangerous gesture.” Cross cultural psychology in a Tower of Babel.
